Wearable barcode scanner

In an attempt to reduce grocery check-out times, designer Seokmin Kang has created a barcode scanner that fits over your finger like a thimble. The “finger scanner” features a minimal design, takes up a lot less space, and even makes it easy to keep track of your shopping total by displaying prices on the back. The traditional barcode scanner takes a long time to scan something properly, and requires the attention of one hand for as long as you are using it. Location and size of a barcode make a big difference when it comes to the efficiency of a hand-held scanner as well, especially those on the underside of a product, or placed on an awkward corner.
