Palm Tran riders can soon travel with a smart card

Palm Tran will be introducing a reloadable smart card called the Paradise Pass, moving away from its less secure and out-of-date Quik Pass, which uses a magnetic strip and was introduced in 1999.

The Quik Pass will be accepted for a period of time as Palm Tran transitions fare systems.

Riders will still be able to buy rides with cash, but will soon be able to pay through Palm Tran’s mobile app, contactless credit cards, smart watches and Google Pay or Apple Pay.
