NovAtel becomes latest member of the GPS Innovation Alliance

NovAtel — a positioning, navigation and timing technology provider and part of Hexagon — has officially joined the GPS Innovation Alliance (GPSIA) as its newest member.

NovAtel designs high-precision GNSS receivers and related solutions for use on land, at sea and in the air, serving industries such as agriculture, defence, autonomous mobility and marine applications. Its product lineup also includes correction services, sensor fusion systems, anti-jam technologies and post-processing tools.

According to Lisa Dyer, Executive Director of GPSIA, NovAtel adds valuable expertise to the alliance at a crucial moment for global positioning and navigation infrastructure. She emphasized that the company’s capabilities — especially in high-precision GNSS and interference resilience — will help protect essential systems relied on daily in transportation, public safety, supply chains and broader economic infrastructure.

NovAtel’s leadership echoed that sentiment, stating that the company plans to use its membership to highlight the importance of robust positioning and timing technologies across critical sectors.

NovAtel joins a group of established GPSIA members that include Apple, Garmin, John Deere, Lockheed Martin, Trimble and TrustPoint, along with other organisations in the alliance’s affiliates programme. GPSIA’s mission is to protect, modernise and advance GPS, GNSS and complementary positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies worldwide.
