RFID Labeling from Schreiner MediPharm & HERMA at interpack

Schreiner MediPharm and HERMA are showcasing a jointly developed RFID labeling solution for pharmaceutical vials at interpack 2026. The system combines Schreiner MediPharm’s durable RFID labels with HERMA’s precision labeling technology to enable reliable RFID application, even at high production speeds.

The solution is designed to address a longstanding challenge in the pharmaceutical industry: damage to RFID chips during the labeling process on small cylindrical containers such as vials and syringes. According to the companies, the integrated system significantly reduces the risk of chip failure during application.

Schreiner MediPharm’s Robust RFID labels are engineered to protect embedded chips from mechanical stress while maintaining consistent readability throughout the supply chain. HERMA complements the technology with its 132M HC wrap-around labeling machine, developed specifically for sensitive pharmaceutical applications and featuring gentle product-handling technology.

The companies say the system supports applications including automated medication management, digital traceability, NFC identification, and tamper protection. The solution is being demonstrated live for the first time during interpack in Düsseldorf from May 7–13, 2026.
