Atlas RFID Selects Graph-Tech RFIDRunner

Atlas RFID has selected the RFIDRunner system from  Graph-Tech USA to expand its industrial RFID label production capabilities as demand for UHF RFID labels continues to rise across North America. The move reflects growing adoption of RFID technology in retail, logistics, and supply chain operations, including retailer compliance initiatives such as Walmart’s RFID mandate.

The RFIDRunner is an inkjet-based RFID encode-and-print platform designed to increase production speed while lowering operating costs. According to Atlas RFID, a single RFIDRunner can now produce twice as many labels as ten traditional thermal printers, while also reducing labor requirements and improving print quality through integrated camera verification systems.

Jeff Patterson, Service Bureau Manager at Atlas RFID, said the company was looking for a scalable solution capable of handling larger RFID production jobs and supporting long-term growth. He noted that RFID adoption is expected to accelerate as more industries implement automated tracking and inventory systems.

Graph-Tech USA President Markus Portmann said the company differentiates itself by delivering a complete turnkey solution that includes the print engine, transport system, controller integration, and ongoing technical support.

The RFIDRunner platform is part of a broader shift away from conventional thermal printing systems toward faster, higher-volume RFID production technologies. Earlier reports from other manufacturers using the system cited production speeds up to 20 times faster than thermal printers while significantly reducing consumable costs.
