Iconex Introduces Patent-Pending RFID Linerless Label Technology
Iconex has introduced its new Iconex Connect RFID linerless label, a patent-pending technology that combines the benefits of linerless labels with the data and tracking capabilities of RFID.
The new solution is designed for industries such as logistics, distribution, e-commerce, retail, food, and grocery. It aims to help companies improve supply-chain visibility, automate data collection, reduce material waste, and increase operational efficiency.
Unlike traditional labels, linerless labels do not require a separate backing liner. This can reduce waste and allow more labels to fit on each roll. Iconex has now combined this technology with RFID, creating a single label that provides both printing and digital identification capabilities.
According to Iconex, the new RFID linerless labels can help businesses improve process efficiency while supporting their sustainability objectives.
Iconex says the new technology was developed in response to customer requirements for more efficient and sustainable labeling solutions.
Rob Epler, President of Iconex, explained that the company wanted to combine two technologies—linerless labeling and RFID—to help customers operate more efficiently while reducing waste.
The RFID linerless solution is part of the new Iconex Connect product range, which includes both RFID linerless and traditional RFID labels.
The combination of RFID and linerless technology could provide several operational benefits.
Iconex’s linerless adhesive technology includes gap and pattern designs intended to reduce adhesive buildup and help prevent printer jams. At the same time, eliminating the backing liner reduces label waste and allows more labels to be produced on each roll.
When RFID is added, businesses can also benefit from automated identification, improved inventory visibility, and better traceability throughout their operations.
