Plastic Logic Display Boosts OneWave’s Smart Card Cybersecurity

Plastic Logic, a manufacturer of flexible, glass-free electrophoretic displays (EPDs), is enabling OneWave to produce a universal connected smartcard with built-in user authentication that enhances cybersecurity.

OneWave, started in 2016 in western France, has developed the connected smartcard incorporating Plastic Logic’s flexible display that can be configured with a dedicated smartphone app. The OneWave enables remote purchasing of transit tickets, access to services, password authentication and also aims to process payments.

Founded in 2000, the company is supported by major investors including the Rusnano Corporation and the E INK Corporation, underlining its market and technology leadership position. Plastic Logic’s glass-free, flexible displays have been integrated into a wide range of applications including digital signage, electronic shelf labels (ESLs), smart cards, mobile devices, electronic badges and smart wearables.
