Virgin Hotels lets guests check in with mobile ID

Guests staying at Virgin Hotels in four US cities can now verify their identity, check in and receive a mobile room key via an app on their iOS or Android device before arriving at their hotel.

Guests first need to join the hotel chain’s The Know loyalty scheme. Membership also enables them to use the Virgin Hotels Lucy mobile app to access an expanded range of contactless in-room controls.

Virgin Hotels has made the updated app available for loyalty scheme members staying in its Nashville, Dallas, Chicago and Las Vegas accommodation and will add the service at a new hotel in New Orleans 'coming this summer'.
