SoftPOS app let volunteers collect donations on standard Android smartphones
Charities in the UK can now let their volunteers collect donations with just their Android NFC smartphone. They can use a softPOS app from Give A Little, a charity donations technology provider. The app lets volunteers accept contactless payments from donors without any extra hardware.
Charities can invite as many volunteers as they want to try the Tap to Phone feature. Volunteers can download the app, log in, and start collecting donations by tapping their phone to the donor’s card or smartphone wallet.
The donations go to the charity’s bank account and are tracked by Give A Little’s admin account. The account shows how much each volunteer raised.
Give A Little is working with payments platform Stripe to offer low-cost cashless fundraising. It also lets charities test Stripe’s S700 handheld portable contactless donation box.
You can watch a short video of the new features here.
There is no additional subscription cost for using the new features from Give A Little.
