STMicroelectronics launches high-performance NFC reader
STMicroelectronics has introduced the ST25R300, the latest addition to its ST25R NFC reader range, engineered to deliver exceptional performance even in the most challenging environments.
Enhanced Power and Extended RangeThe ST25R300 offers a significantly higher power output of up to 2.2W, enabling extended range capabilities and allowing designers to incorporate compact antenna components with ease. Its high output power ensures outstanding receiver sensitivity and reliable performance, particularly in electrically noisy environments. This makes it an ideal choice for applications such as payment terminals and access control systems, where the reader’s antenna may be positioned behind LCD screens or metal casings.
Advanced Features for Versatile ApplicationsBuilt upon ST’s industry-proven NFC technology, the ST25R300 supports NFC reader/writer, NFC passive peer-to-peer initiator and target modes, as well as NFC card emulation. It fully complies with EMVCo 3.x and NFC-A/B (ISO14443A/B) specifications, including higher bit rates, along with NFC-F (FeliCa™) and NFC-V (ISO15693) up to 212 kbps.
Designed for a wide range of applications, the device operates within a broad temperature range of -40°C to 105°C and supports peripheral I/O voltages from 1.65V to 5.5V. These features make it suitable for various industrial and consumer NFC-enabled applications, including EMVCo® payments, access control, Qi protection, NFC charging, and product traceability.
