Zebra Sees Increasing Opportunities for RFID in Warehousing
According to Zebra Technologies, a survey of over 1400 warehouse and distribution center managers and workers worldwide shows that RFID is becoming a popular technology in their operations. The survey reveals that 32% of the respondents have already adopted RFID in their warehouses, and another 39% plan to do so in the next year. Only 19% say they will wait for two to five years.
Zebra Technologies, a leader in RFID and other scanning solutions for various industries, says that RFID can help warehouse operations deal with the challenges of e-fulfillment and returns. Andre Luecht, the global strategy lead for Zebra, says that warehouse leaders need to modernize their operations with technology solutions that can improve efficiency, agility, visibility and decision-making.
Luecht also mentions other automation tools that can benefit warehouse operations, such as robots. He says that warehouse leaders are using their front-line workers for customer-centric tasks that require quality and accuracy, while automation tools can handle cost and space optimization.
