Athletic brand On streamlines fulfillment with RFID
To improve its inventory visibility and efficiency, On, a Swiss athletic brand, is implementing Nedap iD Cloud RFID technology across its global operations. The RFID platform will allow On to track and trace every item from production to purchase. The benefits of this solution include better warehouse and store operations, faster fulfillment, and prevention of unauthorized sales.
On tested Nedap’s RFID technology in a pilot program and achieved positive results. The technology uses radio waves to identify and track objects wirelessly and in real time. On used the item-level data from the RFID tags to optimize its manufacturing, sales, returns, and loss prevention processes.
As On grows its presence in the U.S., it is using RFID-based supply chain tracking to support its expansion. The brand opened a store in Brooklyn, N.Y., in July 2023, after launching its first U.S. flagship in Manhattan in December 2020. The stores feature innovative technology and design. On plans to open more stores in Miami, Chicago, Austin and Portland, Ore., where its North America headquarters is located.
