Eventbrite brings tap to pay to the events industry
Eventbrite, a popular event ticketing platform, has introduced a new feature called Tap to Pay that allows event organizers to accept contactless payments via the company’s Organizer app. This feature is currently available only for certain Android devices and only for organizers in the US, but it will eventually be offered to all Eventbrite users at no cost1.
With Tap to Pay, attendees can easily purchase tickets and breeze through event purchases with a simple tap on their phone. Payments can be made via Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards, along with Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay mobile wallets, with payments processed by Eventbrite Payment Processing1.
Enabling contactless payments directly on mobile devices not only eliminates the need for dedicated payments hardware but also opens the door to substantial revenue growth for event organizers1.
