Microsoft 'retires' Azure IoT Central
Microsoft has unexpectedly decided to retire a significant component of its Azure IoT platform, leaving developers currently working on systems in a tight spot.
The Azure IoT Central service is set to be retired on March 31, 2027. Starting from April 1, 2024, new application resources cannot be created, but existing IoT Central applications will continue to function and be managed. If you’re facing this limitation, you can request an exception by creating a support ticket1.
IoT Central, as described in a Microsoft Lear” post from February 8, 2024, is an IoT application platform as a service (aPaaS). Its purpose is to streamline the process of building, managing, and maintaining IoT solutions while minimizing work and costs.
