Whoop Unveils Advanced Wearables with Blood Pressure and ECG Monitoring
Wearable tech company Whoop has introduced two new devices — the Whoop 5.0 and Whoop Medical Grade (MG) — featuring significant upgrades in health monitoring capabilities, including blood pressure tracking and clinical-grade ECG functionality.
Both wearables are more compact than previous models but pack enhanced technology and improved power efficiency. Their advanced sensors capture biometric data at a rate of 26 times per second, offering deeper health insights in real time.
The Whoop MG model is equipped with a medical-grade ECG sensor capable of detecting signs of atrial fibrillation and alerting users to irregular heart rhythms. It also features blood pressure monitoring, providing estimated systolic and diastolic readings that are calibrated through an initial measurement taken with a traditional cuff.
“We’ve taken everything we’ve learned over the past decade and built a platform to help our members perform and live at their peak for longer,” said Will Ahmed, founder and CEO of Whoop. “We’ve held nothing back.”
