Cloud Inventory unveils newest EPP release featuring generic printer options for label templates

Cloud Inventory has launched the newest release of its Enterprise Printing Platform (EPP). EPP customers can now leverage printer-agnostic label templates.

Previously, label templates required a printer device to be selected at time of label creation. However, the new generic printer option for label template design allows label developers to create label templates that can be sent to any supported printer models. This means that label templates can be used across many different devices, greatly reducing the number of templates required to support.

Generic printer templates will allow more font options without needing to load font files onto the printers. When EPP prints labels using this feature, EPP will auto convert the label to the printer language based on the printer profiles interpreter option (ZPL, IPL, SBPL, PCL, etc). If a LOCAL-type printer profile has no interpreter defined, then PCL is the default output for Generic Printer label templates.

The Cloud Inventory Enterprise Printing Platform enables users to print production labels with barcodes, RFID, and graphics to printers directly from standard applications and databases. No special print servers or other dedicated hardware is required.
